This is a great picture by Lostdutch, highlighting just how wrong the Police get it at every protest.

Look at the picture. Just look at it.

The young officer is in a riot helmet, baton above his head, ready to swing, and surrounded by young people who look anything but trouble. In fact they're not even focused on him. He is in a paranoid world of his senior officer's making.

From the very start of the Occupy, the senior officers are briefing their men like they're facing the Zulus and then release them onto the streets, hyped up and agitated.

Of course, the obvious criticism to what I'm saying is, the situation on the street can escalate quickly. And the simple answer to that is no, just no. There's never been any crowd assaults on the HKPF.

Almost without exception, jumpy officers, get into what can only be described as a bit of "argy-bargy" with the crowds. Let's put this in a way most senior police officers can understand, nothing happens in the crowds at protests that doesn't happen behind the Ref's back or in the scrum on a Rugby pitch every Sunday, yet your guys are swinging batons and using chemicals in response. Weak and unprofessional!

After such elbow wrestling, a scuffle then ensues, instigated by the police who try to make an arrest. The police then get surrounded and other police come in using maximum force. That's it, time and time and time and time and time again. Like a stuck fucking record!

The amount of times I've been in a situation where the crowd could have lynched the officers is countless, yet they only ever push and jostle.

The police have an easy time of it here in HK, that's a fact. The scary thing is, is that because the HKPF has used maximum force on peaceful protesters from the very start and continues to do it to this day, they will shoot someone some day for what in effect will be an actual assault on a police officer.

That's not justice or law, that will be a summary, extra-judicial execution!
